Join us in supporting the people of Ukraine!
Grand total donated: £4,261
As of May 2023, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in 8,709 civilian deaths and 124,500-131,000 total casualties. The war has also caused significant economic impact, with Ukraine's GDP estimated to have decreased by 35% in 2022, and 335 foreign companies completely withdrawing from Russia.
Meanwhile, neighbouring Poland has recorded the highest number of border crossings from Ukraine, at around 10 million as of March 2023, followed by Russia, Hungary, and Romania. Border Guard officers in Poland have cleared over 11.5 million people fleeing war-stricken Ukraine at border crossings with Ukraine as of May 23, 2023.
How the hospitality industry is looking to help
As you may know, Eurovision was meant to be hosted in Ukraine, but due to the ongoing conflict and war, it's now taking place in Liverpool. In an effort to help the people of Ukraine, we've teamed up with some of our amazing Peazi venues to raise money for those in need.
These venues have pledged to raise donations by adding an optional donation to all orders for one week. It's an easy way for customers to give back while enjoying their favorite food and drinks. We're grateful for their help in making a positive impact in the world.
All donations will go directly to the people of Ukraine, who have been affected by the ongoing conflict and war. The money raised will provide much-needed aid and support to those who need it most. We're proud to be a part of this effort and to be making a real difference in people's lives.
Thank you for your support
We want to give a big shoutout to all of the venues that have joined us in this effort. They're the real heroes here, and we're blown away by their generosity and commitment to this cause.
Throughout the week, we'll be updating our blog with real-time totals of the donations raised, so you can see how much of an impact our venues are making. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to making a difference together!
The World Bank has estimated that the cost of rebuilding Ukraine would be about $349 billion, underscoring the magnitude of the crisis. With your help, Peazi can be a part of the solution and help make a positive difference for those impacted by the conflict.
